Valley on Accountability and Funding

The member of Parliament for the Kenora Riding is skeptical the new
Accountability Act drafted by the Harper Government will prevent future
scandals.
Roger Valley says while the concept is good, he believes it still won’t
eliminate all of the problems.
He says he would have liked to see the Government tackle more weighty
issues, such as the forestry crisis, as its first major initiative.
Meanwhile, Municipalities waiting to find out whether they will be getting
infrastructure funding this year are growing impatient.
Phase two funding of the Federal-Provincial infrastructure program is
expected to be announced this spring.
Valley says he has requested information, but notes
the Government hasn’t indicated when the cash will be released.
