Valley on Census Report

The population in the Kenora District has increased by about four percent in the past five years.

Figures released in the national census this week shows that there are now over 64 thousand people living in the Kenora Riding.

Kenora M.P. Roger Valley says the census information is
valuable because its the basis for government grants and program spending.

Valley adds that the main reason for the population increase in the riding is rise in the number of people living in aboriginal communities.
