Van Destroyed in Vermilion Bay Fire

A customized, handi-cap van owned by a popular Vermilion Bay resident was destroyed by fire this weekend.
Family members tell CKDR that a neighbour awoke early Sunday morning to see Scott McEwan’s van on fire in his driveway. She called the family who summoned the Vermilion Bay Fire Department, then moved a second family vehicle away from the fire. The van is a total loss and, so far, the cause of the fire is unknown. Vinyl siding on a nearby workshop was melted in the extreme heat. McEwan is an active member of the Bay Kin Club and well known throughout the community.
