Via Rail Suspends Service Between Winnipeg And Toronto

Passenger rail service has been halted between Winnipeg and Toronto, meaning service has been disrupted in Sioux Lookout.
Via Rail says it’s looking into its options.
Luxury train services between the two cities was suspended on March 11th, with the company citing the impossibility of maintaining schedules as CN deals with recent incidents involving oil trains.
A company spokesperson says they are evaluating the situation on a daily basis and can’t say if that would mean service would be restored.
