Victor was born August 14, 1927 in Bodhan, Manitoba. He received his schooling at Rhodes, Manitoba and spent his younger years there growing up on the farm.
In 1948 he came to Dryden and started working for the Dryden Paper Company in the Woods Department. He started as a cookee and cooked for 6 years before going on Staff in 1956 working at different jobs. During his 37 years with the company he saw many changes from life in the camps with bucksaws to today’s mechanized commuter camps.
Victor was a person of faith and a member of the Anglican Church. He served on the Vestry and was an active member in the choir.
He was a person who strongly believed in community involvement, being a past president of the Ukrainian Literary Society, an avid member of The Dryden Go Getters and also belonged to the Dryden Horticultural Society.
Victor always enjoyed sports very much. In 1979 he was the founder of The Dryden Men’s Slow Pitch League. He was very competitive and it gave him great pleasure to be able to play alongside his two sons. Through the years he supported all of his Grandchildren’s participation in various sporting events and was a well known fixture in the stands at the Arena, Ball Diamonds and Eagles Court Sports.
