The Dryden Regional Health Centre says video-conferencing in long-term care homes has been an early success.
Vice-President of Patient Services Darlene Furlong says they have completed two successful calls, where seniors have been able to meet with doctors without leaving home.
Furlong says she thinks this is just the beginning.
She says video conferencing is becoming quite popular, especially in remote and rural areas and she believes it will branch out to other areas.
Furlong says other organizations are watching the project closely.
She notes the program frees up a bit of space at the Hospital emergency room.
