A number of residents of Grassy Narrows First Nation paid a visit to Toronto Thursday for a vigil at Queen’s Park for their former chief Steven Fobister Senior.
He passed away earlier this month due to complications from mercury poisoning.
In the Legislature, Kiiwetinoong MPP Sol Mamakwa asked the government to consider increasing compensation to all members of the community.
Mamakwa is also asking the province to go on record confirming Fobister died as a result of mercury poisoning.
