Viola Fredrickson

In loving memory of Viola Fredrickson, age 94, who passed away in the Dryden Regional Health Centre after a short illness. Viola went home Saturday, December 15. She was born in 1913 to Freda and Carl Carlson, the oldest of three girls. Viola was predeceased by both parents when she was a young girl, raised by her grandparents in Minnesota along with one sister Clara. She was predeceased by both sisters, Clara (LeCain) and Elsie (Mackie). She was also predeceased by her first husband Ed Savage, sons Wayne (Jane) and Gary (Helen) Savage, second husband Hilding Fredrickson. She is survived by her daughters in law, Jane and Helen, three grand-daughters: Karen (Greg Allan), Laurie (Mark Millions) and Debbie Savage, and by three great-grand-daughters: Samantha Allan, Vanessa and Breanna Millions.

Vi was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, preparing many meals, and enjoyed many Legion functions. Having her family around her was extremely important to her, Sunday suppers were usually held at her home, as long as she could, and her summers were spent at their cabin, eating fresh walleye in beer batter of course, and partying to accordion music with family and friends. She insisted anyone who entered her home take a candy or two. A private family service will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to DRHC CT Scan through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Ave., Dryden, ON P8N 2X3
