Dryden Police are asking residents to be aware that a violent offender has been released from the Regional Psychiatric Centre in Saskatchewan.
Police say Edward Hamel served 3-years for 2-counts of uttering threats to cause death and harm to a police officer and a correctional officer.
Hamel is now residing in the City of Dryden.
Police say he’s considered to be a violent offender who has a history of violent offences and poses a risk of significant harm to the community.
The 37-year-old Caucasian is 5 foot 6 and 207-pounds, with shaved brown hair, brown eyes and a goatee.
Police say the intent of the warning is to enable residents to take precautionary measures.
