39 Dryden residents were among 135 people honored last night for their commitment to volunteering in Northwestern Ontario.
The Province handed out its Volunteer Service and Outstanding Achievement Awards at a special ceremony in Dryden.
Geoff Quirt is with the Ministry of Citizenship and says those that give up their time to help others are key to the Region.
Local residents Ron Thorburn, Isabelle Hardy and Chester Draper were recognized for 30 plus years of work.
Eileen Armstrong, Mary Geurts and Marguerite Nephin from Atikokan received awards for more then 50 years of volunteer service.
