Walmart and Sobey’s, the owners of Safeway, are among the first thirteen retailers who’ve been given the right to sell beer in grocery stores in Ontario.
But you won’t find the suds on the shelves right way.
The winning bidders must now make an application to the Alcohol Gaming Commission of Ontario for each store location the beer will be available.
The province says up to 60-store locations could be authorized to sell beer by the end of the year.
