Warning Issued On Two Invasive Species

The warning flag is being raised on two Invasive Species that may be starting to show their head in northwestern Ontario.

People are being urged to be on the lookout for Cow Parsnip and Giant Hogweed.

Alison Kirkpatrick is with the Invasive Species Awareness Program and says the two look the same and are in the same family.

Kirkpatrick notes both pose a health and safety hazard and you shouldn’t be in contact with the plants.

To report these plants or other invasive species call 1-800-563-7711 or e-mail info@invasivespecies.com
