It’s been several months since Washagamis Bay students
returned to classes at Keewatin public school.
The Keewatin Patricia District School Board recently
heard a report on how the school is welcoming students
back.
Principal Heather Much says they decided to hold a small
ceremony for all students.

Much adds they have a number of after school programs
for students that embrace the Native culture, including
beading work shops, and drumming & dance lessons.
Washagamis Bay First Nation Band was banned from
enrolling students, until their tuition arrears were paid.
