Waterloo Man Charged in Thunder Bay Court

A Waterloo man accused of helping his wife kill herself has pleaded guilty to criminal negligence causing death in Thunder Bay Court.
Peter Fonteece’s guilty plea means the 47-year-old no longer has to face assisted suicide charges in the February death of his wife, Yanisa.
Court heard that the pair checked into a Thunder Bay motel where Yanisa took a deadly combination of alcohol and sleeping pills.
She told her husband not to call for help until she was dead, which Peter Fonteece didn’t, until 5-days later.
Fonteece will be sentenced in the new year.
