Wayne Percival Appleby

In loving memory of Wayne Percival Appleby age 67 of Dryden, who passed away on Saturday November 29, 2003 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre. Wayne was born on September 18, 1936 in Milltown, New Brunswick where he also received his education. After school Wayne was a baker for 3 years. He then joined the Canadian Armed Forces where he served as a guard and later became Corporal. He served in Germany, Cyrpus and stationed in Picton. He served for 9 years. On September 19, 1964 he married Iris and together they raised four children. Wayne attended Trade School to become a welder and was employed by Weyerhaeuser until he retired at age 65. Wayne enjoyed the outdoors. Fishing, hunting were his favorite past times. Wayne was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and also the Loyal Order of the Moose.

He was predeceased by his wife Iris, son Randy and his parents Rex and Eva.

Wayne Appleby is survived by his children Rhea (Doug), Rick (Marion), Sherry (Lawrence) and Dwayne. Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren, Jackie, Burton, Kenny, Kyle and Brody and Rheal. One sister Sheila Haley and one brother Gary both of St. Stephen, New Brunswick. Also by nieces and nephews and special Aunt Ida Martin (92) of St. Stephen.

Memorial Services were held on Wednesday December 3, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home with Legion Chaplain Mary Mennell officiating. A Legion Service and honour guard followed. Interment of ashes will be held at a later date.
