Weather Turning Towards Firefighters Favour

There are over 118-forest fires burning across Northwestern Ontario but the Ministry of Natural Resources is gaining the upper hand on several of the fires.
Officials say they are making good progress on the fires and they are not burning as fiercely as before.
Some 3,600 people have been evacuated and no more evacuations are planned.
Ignace is the latest community to house evacuees with 63-Sandy Lake First Nation residents now staying there.
One of the the largest fires is over 159,000 hectares in size and is burning around the Musselwhite Mine.
Firefighters are doing their best to keep the flames from reaching the actual mine site.
Crews are also working on a fire southwest of Kee-way-win as it has reached the edge of the community.
The MNR is not anticipating any problems and the community has been evacuated.
