Webequie Wants to be Involved in Mining Projects

Webequie First Nation wants to play a larger role in mining expeditions being conducted on their land.
The First Nation has placed a moratorium on the 10 junior mining company’s conducting expeditions in the area.
Chief Scott Jacob says none of the companies have informed them about their work on the land.
Jacob adds they would like to have an opportunity to work with the various groups and he wants to see jobs created for Webequie residents.
Until that time, there will be no new or existing mining expeditions conducted.
