Weekend wildfires

Its getting late in the summer, but Ministry of Natural Resources fire crews are staying busy.

Over the weekend there were another 20 wild fires reported
in the region.

Fire Information Officer, Travis Moffatt says lightning was the main cause of the blazes, but there were also a number of fires caused by campfires that were left unattended or improperly extinguished.

N007 Q: …could be laid. (19 secs.)

Despite some rain last night, Moffatt says the fire hazard
in the region remains in the moderate to high range.
