The Northwest Health Unit is reporting a slow west nile
season.
Health unit staff are compiling the final numbers from
this summer, and note they collected several west nile
positive birds and mosquitoes.
Environmental Health Officer Al Mathers says the virus
carrying mosquiotes are mostly found in Manitoba and other
points west.

Mathers adds they haven’t seen as many human cases of
west nile, because residents are taking precautions and
protecting themselves with bug dope.
