Operations have resumed at the Dryden Weyerhaeuser mill.
Company Spokesperson Jayne Murray says the chlorine dioxide leak occured after one of the tanks suffered some damage.
Murray says the investigating into the leak continues however officials believe a damaged pipe vented the gas.
Luckily no one was injured.
The Ministry of Environment says gas measures in and around the mill have come back negative.
