Weyerhaeuser Recovery Boiler Leak

A suspected leak at the Dryden Weyerhaeuser Mill has caused some concern, however a company spokesperson says the possible leak at the recovery boiler poses no threat to the public.
Jayne Murray says the suspected leak was discovered yesterday, and the recovery boiler has been shut down as a precautionary measure.
Murray says the emergency procedure allows crews to draw out the water so their is no possibility of the water mixing in with the smelt, preventing any threat of an explosion.
The procedure also forces a 12-hour evacuation of the recovery boiler room.
Murray expects the boiler to be down for two or four days, but says their will be no temporary layoffs.
Concern was raised after a recent explosion at a Weyerhaeuser mill south of the border.
No one was injured in the blast.
