The Ontario Forestry Safe Workplace Association has
presented Kenora’s Ilevel Weyerhauer mill with the 2006
Regional Health and Safety Achievement Award.
The award is based on an extensive evaluation of the
plant’s injury record, safety policies and programs, and
joint occupational health and safety initiatives.
The Weyerhaueser Kenora plant also scored 100 percent on
a recent spot check conducted by the OFSWA and the
Workplace and Safety Insurance Board.
The Kenora plant emoloys more than 160 people and
manufacures engineered wood products for the US Housing
Market.
