The McGuinty Government is supporting the Northwestern
Ontario tourism industry by helping a fly-in camp convert
to solar power.
The Ministry of Northern Development and Mines is
providing 86-thousand dollars to Nestor Falls Fly-in
Outposts Limited.
Funding will go towards purchasing and installing solar
energy systems at 11 outpost camps.
The camps are located 320 kilometres north of the base
camp in Nestor Falls.
The solar power technology will help reduce the camps
dependency on propane by using the systems to power water,
lighting, heat and other amenities.
