The Kenora District Ministry of Natural Resources has
unveilled the 2006-2007 work schedule for the Whiskey Jack
Forest.
MNR Spokespersno Shawn Stevenson says Abitibi
Consolidated will continue forest management activities on
the land, such as Timber harvesting, renewal and tending.

Recently, Grassy Narrows first nation demanded Abitibi
Consolidated stop logging an area on its reserve.
Stevenson says the Ministry of Natural Resources has no
reason yet to respond to the group’s statement.
