“White Van Scam” In Dryden

Buyer beware!
Dryden Police are warning the public about a possible scam.
An Ear Falls man was approached in the Wal-Mart parking lot to purchase an LED smart projector and projection screen from a man in a white SUV.
The listed value of the projector alone was $6,000 but he was selling both for $400.
The man didn’t bite and later found the vehicle was rented.
The “White Van Scam” has been making its way throughout Ontario and the seller purchased cheap electronic equipment out of Quebec.
Police say the equipment may or may not work but the time the buyer finds out it’s too late.
