Whitefeather Plan Expected to Help Pikangikum

The Federal Government has pumped an additional $196,000 into the Whitefeather Forest Planning Initiative in a bid to improve the quality of life in Pikangikum.
The comprehensive plan looks at opportunities in the forest industry
and strategies to spur economic growth.
Kenora MP Roger Valley says the First Nation is already reaping the benefits.
First Nation officials say one possibility being looked at is
establishing a Sawmill.
The initiative is directed at creating tourism, recreation, mineral
and forestry opportunities while protecting First Nation land.
