The Wildlands League says the wood supply from the Whiskey Jack forest north of Kenora could drop by as much as 23 percent over the next 50 years.
The environmental group released a study on the forestry plan for the large forest area and claims its not sustainable.
Chris Henscel is the author of the report and says they are concerned that even though Abitibi-Consolidated has moth-balled one paper machine in Kenora, a lot of wood fiber is still being taken out of the bush.

Henschel says the Whiskey-Jack Forest has been hard hit by blowdowns, forest fires and logging activity and more needs to be done to restore it.
