Five vertical axis wind turbines have been installed at the Kenora Fire Management Headquarters.
Ministry of Natural Resources Spokesperson Terry Ruska says each 3.5 kilowatt turbine is capable of generating up to 9-thousand kilowat hours of electricity.

Ruska says the turbines should be up and running by the end of August. The Kenora Fire Management Headquarters is currently awaiting certification.
