It was everything that was advertised…a classic!
The Dryden Eagles Senior Girls Volleyball team captured their 14th straight NorWOSSA Championship Friday night with a heart pounding five sets victory over Fort Frances.
Dryden dominated in the first set winning 25-14, but the Muskies bounced back with a 25-21 win.
The third set was a marathon with the Eagles finally pulling out a 29-27 victory.
Fort Frances would force a fifth set with a 25-18 win.
The final set went back and forth with Dryden finally pulling away to a 15-12 victory.
The Eagles were already guaranteed a spot in the All-Ontario finals as host.
The Muskies can still book their ticket to OFSAA with a win over the Thunder Bay champion next weekend.
