Funding from the McGuinty Government will help to build 28 hundred kilomtres of Winter Roads in Ontario’s far north.
Queen’s Park is coughing up 3.5 million dollars this year, brining total investment in the program to 10.5 million.
Aboriginal Affairs Minister David Ramsay says the seasonal construction of winter roads plays an important role in the economic and social well-being of the far north. The Winter Roads link northern communities to the Provincial highway system, making it possible to move resident, goods and supplies throughout the winter.
