The Dryden Fire Service is out with a warning in the wake of the winter storm this past weekend.
Acting Fire Chief Ken Kurz says the large snow fall, followed by wind and cold temperatures can lead to serious dangers.
Kurz says a common problem is carbon monoxide poisoning due snow piled up against buildings and vehicles, blocking exhaust systems for fuel fired appliances and engines.
You are asked to check for working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
Wind and cold temperatures forecast for this week can also result in sudden power outages.
The Dryden Fire Service is asking you to be prepared and to ensure you have a safe and alternate heat source ready.
Kurz says homeowners should have an emergency kit nearbye.
