Winter Storm Update

The clean-up now begins following a nasty storm that saw two major fronts hit the area.
All highways are now open but motorists are asked to take their time.
The storm resulted in the closure of several highways, including the Trans-Canada from Vermilion Bay to the Manitoba boundary.
Provincial Police re-opened Highway 17 around 11:30 Saturday morning.
The biggest crash was a four vehicle collision on Highway 17 east of the Highway 71 junction.
Three transports and a vehicle were involved.
No injuries were reported.
CKDR Meterologist Bill Laidlaw says Red Lake and Sioux Lookout has seen 20-25 centimetres of snow.
The Highway 17 corridor has received 15-20 centimetres.
This is on top of freezing rain.
We still could see up to 5-centimetres of snow today.
