A major winter storm, originating in the American Midwest, could dump as much as 30 centimetres of snow across parts of Sunset Country.
Environment Canada Forecaster Wayne Whitaker says the storm is due to a Colorado Low that has engulfed the region.
Whitaker adds freezing rain is also part of the system, although much of it will fall near the international border.
The fast moving system is expected to move out of the region by tonight.
