The winter travel industry appears to be in a slump in Sunset Country.
Joanne Misener, owner of Aries Travel in Dryden, says her agency has noticed a big drop in the number of people seeking winter sunshine getaways this year.
Misener says the events of 9-11 and the loss of Canada 3000, which handled a lot of charter flights, are having a negative impact.
She estimates the number of travellers has dropped by about 40 percent this winter.
On a more positive note, she adds domestic travel is on the rise with most major ski resorts in Canada booked solid for the rest of the season.
