A northern Ontario MPP is raising issue over sending wood to Quebec to be processed.
NDP member Gilles Bisson says he has problems with allowing wood cut in Ontario to be shipped to Quebec, instead of to local mills that need it. Bisson says the flawed policy saw a mill in his area unable to procure wood for their own operations.
Forestry Minister Bill Mauro says his concerns aren’t falling on deaf ears, noting he’s asked his staff to provide more information to him about any possible issues arising from wood transfers out of province. (Photo provided)
