Work Continues At Sioux North High School

Work continues at the new high school in Sioux Lookout to prepare to bring students in during January.

School Principal Wayne Mercer says there is a lot of great additions to the new school being built.

Mercer says many of the highlights include a large arts area with a big stage that is in front of the cafeteria and a salon area where students learn hairdressing among other things.

Other highlights include state of the art science classrooms and a learning commons area.

He also mentions that Firefly services will be built right into the school as well as Confederation College.

Mercer mentions that he is also happy the school is so close to being finished since this project has been a long time coming.

The location of the school was also mentioned as it is right beside Sioux Mountain Public School which centralizes education from Kindergarten to Grade 12 and onward to college courses all in one area.
