Creating a Community Well Being Plan to address such issues as addictions, mental health and homelessness in the Dryden area won’t happen overnight.
So says Steering Committee Co-Chair Ann Tkachyk
She says they have received great feedback from more than 55-agencies, but stresses they want to branch out.
Tkachyk says they want to reach out to youth, businesses, seniors and people who are vulnerable to get their input on making the community a safer place to live in.
Tkachyk says they don’t want to rush their work, stressing they need a concrete strategy to improve the lives of local residents.
Saying that, she says they are looking at some short-term measures, including creating a master directory, to bring community organizations closer together.
Those responsible for creating the strategy are now looking over the data they have collected in order to determine their next course of action.
