Work to Light Ball Diamonds Starting This Week

You will soon be able to play ball late into the night at the Sandy Beach Ball Diamonds.
The project is a go thanks to $265,000 in funding from the Federal and Provincial Government’s.
Kenora MP Greg Rickford says both levels of Government realized the importance of this project.
The project will include the installation of lights on all 4-diamonds as well as construction of a central Pavilion.
Work is expected to get underway this week and be completed by the end of Summer.
Rickford says the initiative gives Dryden an opportunity to be a leader in sports tourism.
Local volunteers stress a lot more work lies ahead after the lights are up.
The grand vision is to have improved bathroom facilities, scoreboards and upgraded bleachers.
