Sioux Lookout OPP still have a potentially dangerous situation on their hands.
Around 8:00 last night, Officers were called about a large bear in someone’s yard in town.
The bruin was located and became aggressive as Officers approached.
A single shot was fired from a 12 gauge shotgun but the animal managed to escape into the bush.
An extensive search failed to find the wounded bear, estimated to be about 600 pounds.
Police say if it is seen, they should be notified immediately and the public is warned to not try and approach the bear.
