In loving memory of Wulf Bachmann, age 71 of Dryden, who passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 7, 2010.
Wulf is survived by his children: Ian (Jennine) of Fort Frances, Diana (Howard), grandchildren (Marteena, Tiffany and Harrison) of Dryden and Candace (Jonathan) of Montreal, brother Guenter (Anne) of Dryden, sister Helene (Guenter) of Germany, along with his nephew and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents Hans and Helene Bachmann and sister Ilse.
Wulf, also known as “Europa” and “Wabski Mahingon,” was born 12 August 1939 in Newmark/Geisetal Germany. There, he acquired the occupation of Bricklayer. On 26 June 1963 Wulf traveled on the Q.S.S Arkadia Greek Line from Bremerhaven to Montreal PQ; to work in Canada. It didn’t take him long to settle in and enjoy Dryden and the region. Within a couple of years he met Agnes, married, and went out on his own as a general contractor/bricklayer (from the encouragement of a local businessman he did work for). Wulf was good at what he did and could build or fix almost anything. He was successful during the recession proof times and used his entrepreneurial skills and spirit through the tough times (a true entrepreneur).
Wulf was very fun-loving, a free spirit and not afraid to try new things. He loved his family, kids and animals (he liked to watch “The Owl Box” Ustream and nature shows). He also loved trout fishing, camping, his music and electronics; he was excellent at smoking fish, cooking and making preserves. If you knew Wulf or spent any amount of time with him, he was an eccentric and passionate in his views. He was very fascinated with technology and in his retirement years, he learnt how to use it to communicate with old and new friends; he wished that he was born in this decade so he could continue to use the latest and greatest technology. The “Bachmann Hour” was special as “Europa” would play the old, different and latest music that included singing and dancing (the Russian dance) ~ these were good times and will be remembered

“Return To Innocence”
Enigma
from the album The Cross of Changes
Love – Devotion
Feeling – Emotion
Don’t be afraid to be weak
Don’t be too proud to be strong
Just look into your heart my friend
That will be the return to yourself
The return to innocence
The return to innocence
If you want, then start to laugh
If you must, then start to cry
Be yourself don’t hide
Just believe in destiny
Don’t care what people say
Just follow your own way
Don’t give up and use the chance
To return to innocence
That’s not the beginning of the end
That’s the return to yourself
The return to innocence
