Kathleen Wynne says she won’t boycott Indiana just yet.
The premier is reacting to Indiana’s new religious freedoms law, which is giving businesses the right to turn away gay customers.
The premier says, while Indiana and the province are important trading partners, at this point the province will not withdraw any relations with them, as a handful of other U.S. states have done. This means, for now, provincial employees are not banned from travelling to Indiana for business.
Wynne adds she wants businesses upset by the new law to know they’ll find it more to their liking to set up shop in her province.
She adds she’ll make clear to Indiana’s Governor Mike Pence, the next time she sees him, that this isn’t the way we do business. (File photo)
