Youth Council Being Set Up in Sioux Lookout

Allowing youth to have a voice in community matters.
That’s the purpose of the creation of a Youth Development Commission in Sioux Lookout.
Community Development Coordinator Brian MacKinnon says the mandate of the commission is fairly broad.
MacKinnon notes part of the mandate includes working with local organizations to create programming at the new Youth Centre.
MacKinnon is encouraging anyone who is interested in youth issues or those working in the youth serving sector to contact the Municipality.
Dryden and Kenora are already in the process of developing a youth led commission.
