The Attorney General’s Office is creating a Youth Justice Committee in
the Kenora District.
The Committee will provide an alternative to prosecuting people aged 12
to 17 for lower-risk offences, like mischief, theft and minor assaults.
Attorney General Michael Bryant says they are great for helping young
people get off the path toward serious crime.
Bryant says the Committee will bring together the youth, their parents,
victims and others to work out an appropriate way for the youth to make
amends for their actions.
