Youth Soccer Hoping To Work With City

Dryden Council has agreed to sign a letter of support for a proposed multi-use building at Rotary Park.
The letter is needed in order to submit funding applications for the roughly $325,000 project.
Dryden Youth Soccer Executive member Gary Nickle has provided Dryden Council with an update on the project.
Council is fully supportive of the project but stress they aren’t in a position to provide financial support at this time.
Mayor Craig Nuttall is urging Nickle to move forward with the project, noting it’s great for the kids.
Nickle has suggested in-kind support from the City.
Fundraising efforts continue and the Dryden Rotary Club has committed $100,000 over 4-years.
That leaves the group about $115,000 short of their fundraising goal.
Nickle says Youth Soccer is anticipating growth in the coming years and the facility would be instrumental in attracting new players and out of town teams.
He says the building would have centralized washrooms, keep people protected from the elements and would be a community gathering spot.
