$1-Million For Regional Aboriginal Mentorship Program

Lakehead University is receiving a $1-million grant from a prestigious Canadian Institute to help it run its Aboriginal Mentorship Program.

A spokesperson for the Joyce Family Foundation says they selected the program because it has great merit.

Maureen O’Neill calls the initiative well thought out and structured.

O’Neill says it helps out Indigenous students at the elementary and high school level across northwestern Ontario.

She notes they support pathways to higher education for area students in financial need.
