Sioux Mountain School Continuing “Fun Food Fridays”

“Fun Food Fridays” at Sioux Mountain Public School in Sioux Lookout are still ongoing even during school closures.

Staff have been providing fun and healthy activities to the Kindergartners with home deliveries.

Spokesperson Sharon Dumonski says “Included fresh fruit and bananas to make ‘banana boats’ with little instructions for them so they can put it together themselves. We put some sidewalk chalk in there with a bunch of different activities for them to try.”

Dumonski says they wanted to continue their weekly initiative in a safe way.

She notes before COVID-19 they all met in the gym on Friday afternoons and the older kids planned a snack, craft, a Lego challenge and other activities for the Kindergarten kids.

Dumonski says the program is a team effort between the school, the Friendship Centre and Fresh Market Foods.
