Sioux Lookout Retiree Strikes It Rich

A Sioux Lookout man is celebrating a big Lotto win.

Dean Larose has won $100,000 by saying yes to ENCORE.

He matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the May 14 draw.

Larose, a retiree, says he has been a regular lottery player since 1975.

He says it’s his first big win.

The 60-year-old father says he was checking his tickets while enjoying his morning coffee when he got to his last ticket and thought he won $100.

“I was pleasantly surprised when I checked the ticket again and noticed it was actually $100,000. I started screaming for my wife and we celebrated with a special breakfast; bacon, eggs and mimosas.”

Larose plans to pay off some bills and may treat himself to a snowmachine and consider going on a cruise with his wife.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Sioux Lottery Centre on Front Street.
