Kenora-Rainy River Provincial Liberals will select a candidate Saturday
to run in the October election and all 3 are set on unseating NDP Leader
Howard Hampton.
Dryden Councilor Mike Wood says its time that the riding had an MPP that concentrated
on building the region’s economy instead of focusing on sound-byte solutions on Ontario
matters.
Sioux Lookout Councilor David Gordon says first nation issues and expanding the local
economy are his main priorities.
Kenora’s Blair McCallum says there is an opportunity to expand eco-tourism in the riding
to strengthen the local economy.
Liberals can vote Saturday at the Kenora Rec Centre at 10:30, followed by Eagles Landing in Dryden at 3:30 and
the Sioux Lookout Legion at 7:30.
The ballot box won’t be making a stop to Fort Frances due to time constraints.
