Failure to obey the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act has resulted in an Eagle Lake man being ordered to pay $3,350.
Ministry of Natural Resources conservation officers stopped Ralph Hale in Manitoba back in November 2011.
He was in possession of fish he had caught in Eagle Lake, and didn’t have the proper paperwork to have or transport the fish, adding that it was back at his camp, “Hale’s Fisheries”.
Officers inspected the camp, when Hale stopped them and said that he hadn’t completed his daily catch reports as required.
Further investigation also revealed that Hale didn’t provide all the information regarding his commercial fishing activities.
Hale has been charged with five separate counts of failing to comply with the conditions of his Commercial Fishing Licence, one count of obstructing a fisheries inspection being carried out by conservation officers and one count of failing to provide information requested by an officer.
The case was heard on October 22, 2013.
