Good news for the mining industry in Northwestern Ontario.
Northern Iron is in the process pumping the water out of the Griffith Mine, north of Ear Falls.
About 72,000 litres of water will be pumped out per minute.
Vice President Michael Hepworth says the mine should be back in business by 2016, which is good news for the local economy.
He says although there are advances in technology, there should be between 400-500 jobs.
The mine has been closed since 1986.
